What is a High protein diet?

A High Protein Diet is a diet which 20% or more of the total daily calories comes from protein. Most high protein diets are high in saturated fat and restrict intake of carbs.

A high protein diet can bring quick weight loss because eliminating carbohydrates causes a loss of body fluids. High protein diets cause substances called ketones to be released into the bloodstream. The ketones make dieting easier by lowering appetite.
