Dehydration

Do you think you are staying hydrated?

Dehydration is a common reason for readmission to the hospital after bariatric surgery.

Are you experiencing any symptoms of dehydration? This is a list of common symptoms:

  • Excessive thirst
  • Dry mouth
  • Fever
  • Dizziness or Confusion
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle Cramps
  • Headache
  • Constipation and/or hard stools
  • Decreased urine output/ dark colored urine
  • Dry skin
  • Changes in blood pressure and heart rate

It is important to stay hydrated before and after Bariatric Surgery. If you are experiencing symptoms of dehydration, contact us or your primary physician for treatment.
